Hudson Fly-In

When: Saturday, May 18th at 1pm, doors open at 12:30pm.

Cost: Free event, open to all.

In memory of Cliff Hudson and as part of the 4th Hudson Memorial fly in DAC is showing the film, Portrait of a Legend: Talkeetna's Cliff Hudson. This is an hour-long movie produced by Stagg Productions. Brian McCullough will give the presentation "People, Planes and Peaks of the Alaska Range" before the film. This free event is open to everyone. Hosted by Denali Arts Council.

Green Light Circus Camp 2013

Note: Circus Mites is Mon-Fri and each class is limited to 10 kids, 20 kids in all.
All of the same favorites will be offered such as aerial, juggling, clowning, acrobatics, silks, unicycles and maybe even a few surprises! Not only is participating in circus practice fun, but it is great exercise. These skills help teach concentration, coordination and self esteem which follow youth well into their future. Space is limited. Forms are also available at the Talkeetna Post Office and the Sheldon Community Arts Hangar during office hours M-F 11am-2pm. For questions contact program director Mary Farina at 355-4699. Payment must be included when you turn in your registration form. Hosted by Green Light Circus.

 



  Call for Artists!
Moose on Parade & Art Moose
Large Moose: Ever wonder where all the moose around town come from? We are talking about the colorful, four-legged friends in front of local homes and businesses. They are a part of the Moose on Parade project. Now you can join in on the fun! We are currently looking for artists and submissions for this annual event that helps to support three local non profits. Sumissions may be by individuals, groups and participants of all ages. Moose cut outs may be ordered directly from Bill Thomas from Braided River Carpentry at 907-715-6000.

Art Moose: This year we are also introducing Art Moose, smaller, table top moose to be auctioned off in a silent auction. For more details about this new addition you may download info form and registration form.

Emmila A. Denny Scholarship 2013
(next application review is after March 31st 2014) was created to foster and encourage the creative talents of artists residing in the Matanuska Susitna Borough. It is named for a long-time supporter of Talkeetna community arts and is funded by the following Denali Arts Council programs: Denali Drama, Music Academy, Talkeetna Artists Guild and Green Light Circus. Artists may request up to $300.00 for resources that will further develop their artistic talents. For all ages. Click here for the registration form and more details about this opportunity.

Artisans Open Air Market 2013
Deadline has past for 2013 
(after the March 6th 2013 deadline, artists may be admitted on a rolling, space availale basis) This
is a summer outdoor market featuring juried & approved handcrafted art by Alaskan artisans.10am-6pm Sat - Mon each weekend; May to September. Give the Gift of Art
Gift Certificates may be used for any Denali Arts Council event or workshop.  Credit can be used until it runs out.  Membership is a lasting gift.  You can also purchase a Commemorative Plaque on a Copper Leaf or on a Passenger Seat.  The name of your choice will be commemorated on the artistic copper tree upstairs or affixed to a seat back on one of the moveable chairs downstairs.
